The beaches around Lagos are said to be the best in the Algarve. Praia de Dona Ana and Praia Porto de Mos can be reached within 10 minutes walk of the apartment. Further round are Praia do Camilo and Meia Praia whose sands stretch for 4 km east of Lagos. Meia Praia also offers water sports and it is said that galleons of treasure from the Aztecs were captured here in 1522 by Herman Cortez! | ||
On a promontory called Ponta da Piedade and overlooking the bay of Lagos is a fantastic beach with caves, rocks and clear transparent waters. To the north of Lagos there are fine views at the water reservoir of Barragem de Bravura. |
